Do Good in the Copper Country seeking nominations and volunteer opportunities
Celebrating the amazing work done by volunteers and connecting volunteers with volunteer opportunities in Michigan’s Copper Country is the focus of a new program — Do Good in the Copper Country. The program, which is hosted by Portage Health Foundation, is currently seeking nominations of amazing volunteers and volunteer opportunities.
“Volunteering is incredibly vital to our community’s success, and Do Good is our way of celebrating those amazing people that give their time,” said Michael H. Babcock, director of marketing & communications at Portage Health Foundation. “We’ve already had some great nominations come in, and I can’t wait to read more stories of these incredible people.”
The program will celebrate one nominated volunteer each month. Volunteer nominations should be made on the Do Good website. All those recognized must volunteer in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw or Ontonagon county. The Do Good website will also have a list of volunteer opportunities. Organizations or events looking for volunteers can submit their opportunities on the Do Good website.
Additional information about Do Good, a nomination form and a place to submit volunteer opportunities can be found at dogoodcc.org.
