Fourth annual Health and Wellness Fair at Houghton Farmer's Market is Tuesday, August 13

Western U.P. Food Systems Council.The Downtown Houghton Farmer’s Market is hosting its 4th annual Health and Wellness Fair on Tuesday, August 13 from 4 to 6 p.m.

Local participants in attendance include Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital, UPHS-Portage, Upper Great Lakes Family Health Center, Vitality Chiropractic & Wellness, Elizabeth Ross Acupuncture, Great Lakes Recovery Center, Superior Family Chiropractic, Superior Essentials, Fresh Coast Yoga, Taste the Local Difference, and Western U.P. Food Systems Council.

Free outreach activities for market patrons include: 30 minute body weight classes along the waterfront, mini yoga sessions, seasonal eating tips with a local dietitian, acupressure demos, sun safety bracelet making for kids, healthy cooking demos, and much more.

Additionally, the Portage Health Foundation will give away $5 vouchers to the first 100 health fair attendees redeemable for produce at the Downtown Houghton Farmer’s Market.
