Starting this fall amazing local educators will be recognized with the launch of Superior Educators. This collaboration between several local school personnel and Portage Health Foundation (PHF) is meant to celebrate the people who make our area schools a great place to learn.
“This recognition should be a chance for all of us to come together and celebrate the inspiring people preparing our next generation,” said Michael H. Babcock, Director of Marketing & Communications at PHF.
All educators at K-12 public schools in Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw and Ontonagon counties are eligible including bus drivers, teachers, volunteers and other support staff. Superior Educators will be announced on the 1st and 15th of every month of the school year starting in September 2021.
The community is invited to nominate people at superioreducators.org. From there a volunteer group of local educators will decide which nomination will be recognized next. The awardee will receive a certificate, be featured in local and social media outlets, and receive a gift card.
