2023 Scholarship Information Released by Portage Health Foundation

Portage Health Foundation (PHF) is providing more than 40 scholarship opportunities for graduating students from Baraga, Houghton, Keweenaw or Ontonagon County high schools this year. Application information is now available at phfgive.org/scholarships with a deadline of March 3, 2023.

2023 Scholarships Now Available SquarePHF will award one $1,000 scholarship for one graduate each from Baraga, L'Anse, Calumet, Chassell, Dollar Bay-Tamarack City, Hancock, Horizons, Houghton, Jeffers, Lake Linden-Hubbell, Ewen-Trout Creek and Ontonagon high schools for a general education scholarship, health career scholarship, and a career and technical education (CTE) scholarship in partnership with Keweenaw Economic Development Alliance.

Donor-designated scholarships this year include the Joseph B. Kirkish, Ph.D., Scholarships and McIntyre Family Scholarships. The Kirkish Scholarships include two $2,500 general educational scholarships and two $2,500 general education scholarships for a student who is a congregation member of St. Ignatius Loyola and/or St. Albert the Great in Houghton. The McIntyre Family Scholarships are worth $2,000 for two graduating seniors from Ontonagon High School that intend to enroll in a certificate program or an associate degree in skilled trades or career technical education.

Application information has been provided to guidance counselors at all 12 area high schools and can also be found at phfgive.org/scholarships.
